Different people have different opinions about other religions. Some are narrow-minded and do not get much involved in the idea of religious pluralism, while few others accept that all religions are equal and each one of them has something to do with the betterment of human race. So when people have a healthy attitude towards other religions and respect them that is what we call religious pluralism. But when you are ready to profess that as well then that is what you identify as interreligious dialogue
Types of Interreligious Dialogue:
There are four ways in which you can provoke people healthily and motivate them to practice the ideals of interreligious insight. These four ways are quite simple, and any person who believes and practices the ideals of interreligious dialogue and has good knowledge about this concept can do the task of spreading interreligious insight. So with no further ado let us get to the four types.
- The Dialogue of Everyday Life
- The Dialogue of Action
- The Dialogue of Religious Experience
- The Dialogue of Theological Exchange
Let us see the types in detail:
The Dialogue of Everyday Life:
This is one of the simple ways in which we see the beauty of interreligious faith. The interreligious dialogue of everyday life in nothing but the way we respect people who belong to a different brotherhood or a different faith. We coexist in society, in a country where people of different faiths and belief live, and we don’t protest it. Surpassing these difference we have learned to live with the society. Religion and faith are my personal affairs, and it has nothing to do with the love that we have for the neighbor next door.
The Dialogue of Action:
This point doesn’t vary too much from the above point that is the dialogue of everyday life. However, this one is tougher than that above strategy. Not all can do a deed that will communicate the person’s spirit of interreligious faith. Though it is tough there a lot of incidents happening around the world that place humanity before religion. Those are the incidents that act as good example for interreligious dialogue of action.
The Dialogue of Religious Experience:
The dialogue of religious experience is when people experience the goodness of other religion. People who understand the term interreligious ideals themselves still feel wary of this concept. So this now is the toughest point in the interreligious faith. The main thing here is that there is no conversion. The person gets complete faith and grip over the other religion and begins to trust the religion, and there it ends. He gains a strong belief in religious pluralism as a result of this experience.
The Dialogue of Theological Exchange:
Forget the interreligious differences that we have today, and there are intra-religious differences as well. There are a lot of differences within a particular religion. People split themselves according to what most of them believe and form a different group. So most of the theological exchanges that take place, especially in Christianity, are to rubbish off the differences that are in a particular religion.
